Miserly Mom...Black Friday

I shopped on Black Friday for the first time in 2007. I went to Old Navy and bought myself a nice black winter wool coat for 50% off. I couldn't believe the bargain price I got my coat for and that bargain convinced me that I should shop on Black Friday again.

This year, before all the mayhem occurred with illnesses here, I took advantage of Black Friday to stock up on winter clothes for DearDaughter1 next year.

I went to Old Navy, where I had a $10 coupon just for using my Old Navy VISA and purchased 2 pairs of fleece pants, a fleece jacket, 2 long sleeved shirts, and a summer tank for $19+. I also bought DearHubby a new pair of jeans for 50% off and 2 shirts for $5 each. The clothes I purchased for DearHubby are about the same price at Wal-Mart, but I actually like how the Old Navy shirts fit on DearHubby better. In addition to having a $10 coupon just for using my Old Navy VISA, I also earned a $20 coupon just for using my Old Navy VISA 4 times before December 31st. I am looking forward to getting that coupon in the mail soon!!!

I also went to The Children's Place where all items were an additional 20% before 11am and I earned an additional 10% by using my Place card. I purchased pink matching rugby sweaters for the girls, 2 more long sleeved shirts for DearDaughter1, a top and pants set for one of DearDaughter1's friends, 2 pairs of jeans (at regular price), and the cutest stuffed monkey I have ever seen. I spent about $40. I haven't done the math yet, but I am assuming that I bought about $80 worth of clothes.

I don't usually go crazy on Black Friday, but I thought this would be a good time to get new clothes for DearDaughter1 at bargain prices and I am happy with the buys I got!
