October 25, 2006

I had a wonderfully blessed day today! I was able to get all my chores done according to MyRoutine and I had time leftover to do other things!

I am not one for talking on the phone so making phone calls is stepping out of my comfort zone. Yet, I made 3 phone calls today just to catch up with 2 friends and my sister. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to talk over the phone because I got to hear prayer requests instantly, especially for one of my friends who just discovered she has two blood clots which could be a concern for her pregnancy. It is also truly a blessing to say, "Please don't hesitate to call me if you need me to help you in any way!" I pray that my help offer will be taken up so that I may have the opportunity serve in love.

I also had the opportunity to finish my required reading for Thursday's Bible study. We are reading from Warren W. Wiersbe's Be Joyful. The one quote that really caught my attention was, "The person with the submissive mind does not avoid sacrifice. He lives for the glory of God and the good of others; and if paying a price will honor Christ and help others, he is willing to do it...Sacrifice and service go together if service is to be true Christian ministry." It was a great lesson for me about how one ought to truly "love my neighbor as myself", sacrifice.

I am working on a crocheted blanket for a friend's Christmas present and I had time last night to work on it. I have a long way to go and I hope to complete this one soon as I desire to crochet one more blanket for my Encouraging Sister's Christmas present. For the longest time I could not crochet because of the carpal tunnel I developed during pregnancy. I just recently discovered that I am able to crochet again and so I praise God for His healing!

Lastly DearDaughter and I were able to go for a 45 minute drive around town to just enjoy a beautiful fall afternoon. I wish I had our camera to capture some of the fall foliage along the way because some of the trees were just breath-taking.

So, that was my blessed day, a day I can't complain about.
