Notes...A Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George

CHAPTER 7 (1st half of chapter)

Scriptures used in chapter:
...the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,... (Titus 2:3-4, NKJV)

Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24, NKJV)

Key points:
- You are to hold your husband first in your heart after God

Heartfelt Yet Practical Love
- But when God instructs us to "love" our husbands in Titus 2:4, the word is phileo, meaning friendship love - a love that cherishes, enjoys, and likes our husbands! Each of us is to value our husband as our best friend and want to be with him more than with any other person.

Yes, But How?
- Decide to make your husband your Number One human relationship - Your husband is to be Number One in your life (after God) - and he needs to know it. And everyone else needs to know it too.
- Begin to choose your husband over all other human relationships - The wise woman remembers she will begin and end as a wife
