Funday Friday
DearDaughter1 was playing with the animals in our Noah's Ark set on Friday morning and I asked her if she wanted to see some of those animals in real life. She exclaimed, "YES!"
It was a spontaneous idea, but I was all for going to the zoo. It's only an hour drive from us and it's free.
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so I have no pictures of the day. Nonetheless it was still a lot of fun. The neatest part about going through the zoo was seeing DearDaughter1's face light up when she saw animals she normally only sees in books or as figures.
I also put DearDaughter1 in charge of the zoo map and at the age of only 2, she navigated us through the zoo really well. She basically looked at the animals on the map and said, "OK mom, we didn't see the ---- yet. That's where we're going next..." The animals on the map were place in a circle and so it was very easy to take direction from my little 2 year old.
DearDaughter2 didn't get as excited as DearDaughter1, but she still enjoyed finding the animals in their cages, pointing at them, and identifying them as either cat, bird, or bear. At least she was about 70% correct in her identification.
It was a long day, but definitely a fun one!

How fun! We're actually planning a trip down there on one of D's days off of school (Sept 30 or Oct 1)
Sounds wonderful! I would love to go to the zoo...but ours is an hour and a half away and not free...so it shall wait.
Blessings
Crystal
