It's Hard to Fathom...

I didn't know DearHubby's grandpa, his mom's dad, very well. The only thing I know about DearHubby's extended family on his mom's side is that they do not know the Lord. His grandpa died last night. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease a few years ago and a couple months ago he completely lost his mind and turned violent. He was in a home under 24/7 watch. In his last hours he was not eating or taking his medications and he lost a lot of weight. We didn't ask how he passed. They don't know yet when the funeral is, possibly this weekend, so we will go to Illinois as soon as we know.

My heart sank when DearHubby informed me that his grandpa passed because we didn't know whether or not he knew the Lord in those last hours. In my mind I know where the unsaved go for all eternity, but it's hard to fathom a family member not being with God.

In Him,
In Pursuit of His Call

I'm so sorry for your loss; death is always difficult, but much more so when we don't have the comfort of knowing they've gone to be with their Savior.

Will be keeping you guys as well as the extended family in prayer; perhaps the memorial service will be a way to plant a few seeds...
