Our First Wedding After Kids

Picture hosted by www.holdthatpic.com

Back in December 2007 we were invited to our first wedding after kids. When I made reservations for this January wedding I made it for 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). I received a call from the bride to be asking me to find a babysitter for the kids or to cancel. Since I am still nursing, we decided that we would just cancel our reservations because we are not able to leave DearDaughter2 with a babysitter.

Then, in January, we were invited to a February wedding. Traumatized from the previous ordeal, I didn't know how I should reserve for this wedding. At the very last minute, DearHubby finally talked me into calling my friend to see if children were allowed. I did and I found out that there would be childcare at the reception and the children would have their own catered meal. "Wow, how thoughtful!," I thought!

So, the wedding was yesterday and everything went well except for missing the ceremony because DearDaughter1 & DearDaughter2 were so loud that we had to step out of the sanctuary to keep them from distracting the ceremony. The ceremony was probably only 45 minutes long, but it seemed like the longest 45 minutes! All in all, though the wedding couple were very thoughtful about making accomodations for the children, I don't know that I'd want to take children to another wedding again until I know they are able to sit still and quiet for a time. Our attention was so divided that we really didn't get to enjoy seeing our friends' special occasion. I was kind of sad about that because she's leaving the area and moving to Florida next Saturday.
