Verse of the Day:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)

I'm not sure why, but I was and am so tired.

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that DearHubby and I only got a few hours of sleep last night. He was complaining about some lower back pain and couldn't find a comfortable position in bed. We both tossed and turned until about 2am and we both get up for the day at 5am. DearHubby turned off the alarm when it went off, but we forgot to get up and when we did it was already 5:45am

I spent the day catching up with my Tuesday chores, which I didn't do this week. I've changed up MyRoutine a bit (which reminds me, I should update it) and on Tuesdays I spend the time addressing paperwork and reviewing our budget. It doesn't sound like a big chore, but it literally takes me a whole day and it especially took me longer today because I had more paperwork in my "outbox" since it is Friday. It also takes a bit of concentration as I have to read each important piece of mail.

DearDaughter was also having a rough day. We have ran errands from Monday thru Thursday and today was the first day this week that we've stayed in ALL day. DearDaughter didn't do very well with entertaining herself and really wanted me to spend a lot of time with her on the floor. So, I was trying to balance getting some work done while spending time playing with DearDaughter. Getting up and down from the floor is sure a huge task for me and I think that's what contributed to the tired factor.

After addressing all the paperwork, I reviewed our budget. Basically, it's like balancing a check book. I take all our receipts and enter it into our Money program and then compare the balance with our online balance. I then review where we are with our budget with regards to whether on not we are under or if it seems like we will be going over. We normally go over and normally have to cover our overexpenses with extra money from the next month.

Well, as I completed reviewing our budget, DearHubby called to update me about the septic system. Apparently, the contract the septic installers wrote up does not cover the cost of the fill-dirt certification and the owner of the company even challenged DearHubby to take him to court. It concerned me that it got to that point, but DearHubby explained that when the owner got upset and wanted to hang up, he was able to reel him back in with kindness, calm him down, and talk more with him. So, things didn't end up on bad terms with the installer. Well, after making some other calls to the engineer, the engineer was very helpful in explaining the whole process. Our county is the only county that requires this particular certification and so there's still a lot of confusion about whose responsibility it is to follow through on it. In the meantime, the home owner is stuck in the middle, not knowing what is going on until they get a letter from the county saying that their septic system has not been approved. To make a long story short, we have to pay for this fill-dirt certification, another $295 out of our pockets.

I didn't have any worries about the money, but I was concerned because as I went through our paperwork, we received a bill from the hospital where DearHubby had his knees operated on and the insurance company didn't pay $140 of the procedure. So, in one day, we have 2 large amounts that we need to come up with.

I am in the process of searching for the best rates for a Home Equity loan. So far though, the best offer we've gotten was actually for a personal loan.

Anyway, I think all of this "stuff" drained me mentally, which is why at the end of the day when DearHubby arrived home, I was really tired.

I was relieved that we had plans for the night to meet another family at Fuddruckers for a small get together for DearHubby's birthday. At least I didn't have to worry about cooking dinner. I was also relieved that I had someone to talk after dinner because DearHubby's main desire was to roam through the car show that was in the parking lot. I've been to so many of these car shows that I really wasn't interested in seeing any, so I was glad that I had someone to talk to.

Well, I am truly beat so it's off to bed for me.

In Pursuit of His Call

Thank you for your sweet comments.
Your day does sound a little stressful. I do our budget and am not quite as meticulous as you are. It is disturbing when things are thrown in the mix especially without warning...
Happy Mother's Day!
