Verse of the Day:
“My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.” (Psalm 62:7)

It was a rough day for me.

At the end of Monday evening, my back really started to bother me. I normally rest after dinner, but I had a meal to prepare and a few more chores to finish up before bedtime. I forgot to ice my back and when I remembered I was in the middle of completing one last chore. I didn't even have the opportunity to rest while icing my back. As a result, I was in pain through the night. I couldn't find a good position in bed. Finally, after tossing and turning all night long, I got up at 4am this morning to start my day. Since I didn't get good enough rest for my back, it just progressively got worse.

I had a lot of used and dirty dishes from all the cooking I did on Monday so it literally took me all day to do the dishes as I don't have a dishwasher. As a result of standing all day long, my back got aggravated even more.

To add to my back's stress, DearDaughter wanted some TLC today from Mommy and who can resist such a cutie?

So, I didn't get 1/2 of the chores I needed to get accomplished. I was hoping to go to a luncheon at church tomorrow for a pregnancy crisis center. It is a "baby shower" to donate items for the pregnant women. I didn't have time to go through DearDaughter's things and so I am not prepared for the luncheon. Perhaps it's better that I stay home and rest my back anyway.

I had one more chore I needed to run before the day's end. My nephew's birthday party is this Saturday. They live all the way out in California. I knew that to get his gift out to him on time without paying extra for Express mail, I needed to get the package out today. Only through God's strength did I make it through that chore. I was in such great pain that I could barely lift DearDaughter in and out of her carseat and I literally inched my way to and from the Post Office because I could barely walk. At that point I decided that I wasn't going to cook tonight and so on the way home I stopped by an Italian restaurant to pick up a calzone for DearHubby and I.

I am stopping my work for the day. I am just going to ice my back and head on to rest.

In Pursuit of His Call
