Verse of the Day:
“ We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.” (2 Thessalonians 1:3)
DearDaughter and I were invited over a DearFriend's for lunch today. This DearFriend has 13 children. Well, when we got to their house, 3 boys came out to greet me and to help me carry in our stuff. Then, as I entered the home, all the kids were busy at work getting lunch ready. They prepared a turkey dinner for lunch and chocolate cookies for dessert.
Well, after lunch, the older kids cleaned up all the dishes while the younger kids went into the play area to play with DearDaughter and DearFriend's 14 months old while we sat on the couch fellowshipping. While DearDaughter had fun playing with her new friends, DearFriend and I had a pleasant time of fellowship.
One of the topics in our discussion was how we as wives were created as helpers for our husbands and that we should support and encourage whatever dreams God has given to them and help them succeed, providing that their dreams are not sinful and unrighteous. She then lent me a book, Her Husband is Known in the Gates by Bernadine Bigner Cantrell. It sounds like a very interesting book and I am excited to get started on it!!!
I truly enjoy spending time with this DearFriend. She is very courageous in standing firm in her faith and if a friend is doing something that she believes is unbiblical, she will be upfront and give her friend reproof out of love. It is a great encouragement to witness such courage! I also admire the trust she has in God concerning her family, her family's finances, and her family's faith. I do look forward to spending more time with her as she always edifies and encourages me. I pray that I am able to return the same for her.
