November 3, 2006

It's been a tough couple of days. DearDaughter was so unhappy, fussy, and clingy with her cold. On top of not feeling good from the cold, she's also been having a difficult time adjusting to the time change and her body is just so used to taking naps at certain times. We're heading west to California in a couple of weeks. I'm nervous about her adjusting to a 3 hour time difference. We will definitely need lots of prayer during that time!

I am a co-coordinator of a ministry called Sister Encouraging Sister at church and we had a Christmas party planning session yesterday at my house. Blessedly, the other co-coordinator had much patience as DearDaughter could not take a nap during our meeting. Sister Encouraging Sister pairs up 2 women for a year, like accountability partners, to encourage one another by Word and prayer. Well, I praise God that He allowed us to focus and finish our planning yesterday as we won't have another time to meet before the day of the party. Ms. D will be taking care of finding a speaker for the party while I prepare some hymns/spiritual songs to sing. The past 2 years we set up the church's narthex really nice to look like a warm and inviting restaurant. However, we didn't have many women come and so this year we are having the party in just one of the bigger Sunday School classrooms. There is much need for prayer about this ministry, especially that the women will be diligent in encouraging one another in Jesus Christ.

Today, I worked on DearDaughter's 1st Birthday Party favors pictured above. The container is a Gerber Baby Food jar. It contains Hershey's Kissables (miniature Hershey's Kisses covered in a hard candy coat, like M&Ms). They were 50% off at Wal-Mart in the Halloween aisle. The ribbon is a plastic string, purchased at an asian super-market for $0.99 a roll. The tag is the same picture as on the invitation and the saying is similar to the invitation as well. I am happy to say that I came within my allowed budget of $25 for the favors.

I also had the opportunity to have lunch with a former colleague. We hadn't seen each other since the beginning of the year, which was a long time for us, since we used to do lunch every month. Therefore, she was quite excited when I gave her a surprise call this morning to ask her out to lunch. May the Lord help me continue building this relationship and may He open up the opportunity for me to share Jesus with her one day.

Even with all these activities, I've been able to pretty much keep up with my chores. Again, like last week, I have not gotten to any purging or organizing. Perhaps I'm procrastinating.

Well, DearHubby is waiting for me to sit and relax with him.

Have a blessed evening.
