May 14, 2007 (A Good Mother's Day Weekend & Monday)

Verse of the Day:
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (
Psalm 139:13-14)

We had a wonderful weekend!

Though I was tired on Friday, our weekend started off to a good start when we got together with some DearFriends at Fuddruckers. DearHubby was really excited to see the car show there and just because we had a blessed time with our DearFriends and DearHubby was happy, I was happy!

When DearHubby woke up on Saturday morning he asked me if I wanted my Mother's Day present. I asked him what if I wanted to wait until Sunday morning. He replied by saying, "You don't want to wait until Sunday morning." So, I told him "OK." He went out to the car and brought me back a plastic bag wrapped to the shape of a ball the size of my fist. He told me he didn't have time to wrap it nice. I was so confused and wondered why my DearHubby was giving me trash. I opened up the plastic bag and saw lots of plastic pieces. I didn't recognize what they were at first, but after about 5-10 seconds, I figured out that they were the elbows to my piano hammers! My DearHubby really surprised me this year since I have been bugging him about my broken piano for about 5 years now.

After breakfast and straightening the house a little, we packed up to go to a motorcycle race. DearHubby's birthday celebration was even extending through the weekend. Mapquest gave us the wrong directions and at the end of the drive, it led us to the motorcycle track through the woods. It cost us about an hour to finally figure out how to get to the track since we didn't have a real map in the car. We had a lot of fun at the track. DearHubby got to see a new riding buddy that he met online and rode with once. Even DearDaughter had a blast! However, because the turnout was so low, the races ended early. We got home earlier than we expected so we rented a few movies. It did give me some time to rest before dinner and I actually did have enough energy to cook.

After dinner while I straightened up the house and browsed some blogs, DearHubby fixed my piano.

We then watched a movie. The movie we watched on Saturday was "A Night at the Museum" with Ben Stiller. I used to dislike Ben Stiller, but lately his movies haven't been too bad. I actually enjoyed this movie. It was clean and actually funny!

After church on Sunday DearHubby let me choose where we were going to eat lunch so I chose Old Country Buffet. I was in the mood to stuff myself and that I did. I had a big salad plate and corn chowder soup for my first round. On my second round I made myself a soup bowl of taco salad. On my third round I got myself a garlic stick and a small piece of pizza. I don't normally get the pizza there, but for some reason, I was just in the mood. I was looking forward to dessert, but the chocolate fudge cake they usually have didn't look too good, so I went for the bread pudding, which I normally like too. For some reason, the batch I got mine from didn't taste too well either. I then saw the brownies, but I was too full to get one, but seeing the the brownies motivated me to bake some homemade brownies when we got home.

I have been trying a new dessert recipe every week and this past week I chose brownies because DearHubby loves them. Well, this was the first time I've ever made homemade brownies and they were AWESOME!!! They weren't too cakey or too fudgy and they just melt in your mouth.

So, we had turkey sandwiches for dinner and then some brownies.

After dinner I just spent some time reading. I'm so excited that I'm almost finished with one of my books!!! I don't know why I do this, but I have to read more than 1 book at a time and currently I am reading 3. Some day I will share some of the things I've learned in these books.

So, that was the weekend.

Today was also a good day!!! I went grocery shopping, had lunch, returned the movie we watched on Saturday, picked up some clothes for DearDaughter from a DearFriend who bought them at a garage sale, picked up more food for a meal I'll be delivering on Friday, went to Hallmark to purchase a birthday gift for my Encouraging Sister, and then I even had time to work on my personal 30-Day master bedroom Organizational project!!!

Lastly, my main goal for the week is to get a Home Equity Loan application to the best lender's offer. So, tonight, I spent some time shopping around and I found the best deal yet!!! With this offer, we get to pay off our Balloon Mortgage and have enough money for our new baby room project for the low fixed rate of 6.15%. When I first quit my job, I used to fret so much about where we were going to get sufficient funding with just one income. I also used to wonder if we could ever afford children. Well, over and over again, the Lord has always shown us how faithful He is to provide for all our needs. DearHubby and I have always been faithful in tithing since we got married. I truly believe because of this faithful giving the Lord continually blesses us with just enough! Anyway, it was just so exciting just seeing how the Lord once again provided us with this great deal so that we are able to work on the new baby room. This was a big decision for us because we have been debt free (except for our mortgage) since I quit my job. However, we needed to go this direction because when we bought this house it was termite infested and falling apart. Any part of the old house needs to be torn down and rebuilt and this time we just didn't have the cash to do the renovations if we are to provide suitable living conditions for our new baby. So, I am thankful for God's faithfulness and how He has already taken care of our new Little One even while she is in the womb. His works are WONDERFUL!!!

Well, as you can guess, I am BEAT!!! DearHubby just walked in from the garage. He was working on tuning our tractor so he can mow the field this week. So, I'll be spending the rest of the night enjoying time with DearHubby.

In Pursuit of His Call
